Advent Services
At Christ Church, we celebrate special services during the various seasons. The season of Advent (which means coming or arrival) is a season that focuses on expectation. It focuses on promises, on anticipation, on on hope. Extending from four Sundays before Christmas up to Christmas Eve, it is a contemplative season of fasting and prayer that looks forward not just to the first coming of Christ Jesus in his Incarnation, but especially to his second coming in the Last Days. We hope you can join us for our Advent and Christmas services over the coming weeks.

With the fourth lockdown in place, it is all the more important that we are vigilant and mindful of our Christian duty to care for one another. While we are continuing with in-person services out of equal concern for the spiritual and mental health of our church community, we are returning to the following safety measures while in the church building:

—FFP2 masks covering both nose and mouth are required
—please use the hand sanitizer dispenser when entering the church
—social distancing is mandatory
—services will be capped at 45 congregants (registration required for 10.30am and special services)
—reduced singing in services
—anyone with symptoms is encouraged to stay home and consult a physician
—everyone is encouraged to test regularly
—while traveling to/from the church, everyone should be mindful of local guidelines

Please also note: During the lockdown (from Friday, 26 November until Sunday, 12 December), Charles Bishop will hosting Noonday Prayer (12.30pm) and additional services of Evening Prayer (6.15pm), Monday to Saturday, over Zoom. Please do join us!
